Tuesday Little Rocks - schedule
DEAR LITTLE ROCKERS, PARENTS, AND GRANDPARENTS, Nov. 2009
I feel that we are off to a good start once again this season. It was nice to see everyone involved in a game situation this past week. We will continue this same format of running two drills followed by a short game. It would be appreciated if everyone could be at the club and ready to start by 4 p.m.
All snack donations have been much appreciated and enjoyed by our group. There are still some dates in the new year where we need some goodies. The list is on the sign-in table if I’m not available. The hot chocolate and cups are provided. For your information there are twenty-two curlers.
We will be having a FUN DAY with special treats on December 15. It would be great if everyone had something festive on (red or green colours, a Santa hat, etc.). We will have special activities on the ice so come prepared to curl and have fun!! Our next curling date after the party will be January 5. For your information curling will run to the end of March except for the week of March Break. If the school buses are cancelled due to poor weather, our program will do the same.
I’m happy to inform everyone that the club is planning a LITTLE ROCK BONSPIEL this year and it will take place on Sunday, February 28. We are hopeful that many Little Rockers will come from the surrounding clubs in our area. It would be great to enter at least two teams from our club. Tim Horton’s is the sponsor for this event. I’m sure it will be a great day. We will be asking for assistance on that day from the parents, possible food donations and draw prizes and general help to make it successful.
Our Little Rock program can only run smoothly by having many dedicated volunteers. We are very fortunate to have the following group of leaders and helpers this year.
Instructors: Mary Holt, Sharon Lalonde, Linda Powell, Dianne Harris
Adult Helpers: Rob Steele, Dan O’Reilly, Bill Mantel, Paul Coveart
Student Helpers: Leah Will, Heather Oosterholt
Our goal is to have fun while learning the skills of curling and of course, to be safe while achieving these goals. Please feel free to talk to me about any concerns that you may have. My phone number is 905-985-3278.
GOOD CURLING!!
